Terms of Service
These terms explain what ApproveLock provides and the responsibilities of the people who use it.
Last updated: 2026-06-06
What ApproveLock provides
ApproveLock lets an owner upload work, share a protected preview link, control who can open it, and decide when to unlock access or send the final file. Approval Lock is the name of this review-and-unlock workflow inside ApproveLock — it is not a separate product.
Payments, escrow, and unlocking
ApproveLock does not process payments, hold funds, act as escrow, or automatically unlock access after payment. Any approval, payment, or final handoff happens outside ApproveLock unless a future billing feature is explicitly released.
Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Use a strong password and let us know if you believe your account has been compromised.
Owner responsibility for content
If you upload work, you are responsible for it. You confirm you have the right to upload and share it, and that doing so does not break the law or infringe anyone else's rights.
Viewer / client access
Viewers open protected previews under the access rules the owner sets, which may require a name and/or email and may restrict access to specific addresses. Access activity is recorded for the owner.
Protected previews and watermark limits
Protected previews and identity watermarks are designed to deter casual copying and to attribute access. They are not full digital rights management. ApproveLock does not guarantee that a preview cannot be screenshotted, photographed, copied, or leaked.
Acceptable use
- Use ApproveLock only for lawful purposes and in line with these terms.
- Do not attempt to break, overload, probe, or bypass the security of the service.
- Do not use the service to store or share unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
Prohibited content
You may not upload malware, content you do not have the right to share, or material that is illegal where you or your viewers are located. We may remove content or suspend access that we reasonably believe violates these terms.
Files you upload
We apply checks on uploads (such as file type and basic content checks), but you remain responsible for the files you store and share through the service.
Availability
We work to keep ApproveLock available and reliable, but the service is provided on an as-is and as-available basis. Features may change, and parts of the product may be in beta or marked coming soon.
Plan limits and fair use
Each plan includes limits (for example on documents, storage, viewing bandwidth, and conversions). We may apply these limits to keep the service sustainable. Some plans or features are not yet self-serve purchasable and may be labelled accordingly.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access to an account that breaks these terms or that creates risk for the service or other users. You can stop using ApproveLock at any time.
Beta and coming-soon features
Some capabilities may be offered as previews or marked coming soon. They may change or be withdrawn, and they may not carry the same expectations as generally available features.
Limitation of liability
To the extent allowed by law, ApproveLock is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss arising from copying or leaking of a preview, from unavailability of the service, or from your or a viewer's use of the service. Nothing here removes rights that cannot legally be excluded.
